HiI wanted to go away a new go as the 661 thread is too vast to address a particular air. Hope it is ok. I just got the 661 from a local dealer. I noticed that the remote is very very slow and sometimes unresponsive. I tried new batteries and that didnt back up. In particular the volume hold back is pathetically slow. I tried the remote of my old RX-V795a receiver on 661 and that is very fast. Unfortunately the 795a remote doesnt duplicate all the functions of 661 remote. I was wondering if this is a known air. Since many people use an universal remote any issues with the original remote may go unnoticed. I am sure there will be folks desire me who move afford a $150 or $250 universal remote. I need the old remote in another room and also the thing that theold remote lacks is the level hold back and the speaker setting which I usea lot. For example to change the subwoofer aim or to change thespeaker from small to large etc which I use when ever I changefrom HD telecommunicate to DVD. My old remote can just control the volume and also select the sources. Thats it. Also my old remote is like 6 yrs old and if it dies I need to spendsome $125 for a replacement. So I would like to find a fix for the 661 remote. Yamaha wanted me to displace my remote approve to get a replacement. If the remote they displace is worse then my current remote thenit ordain be more frustrating I have no issues at all with my 661 remote. It is however very sensitive to line-of-sight so if you have your receiver behind furnish or the desire it might undergo problems. You might try a JP1 universal remote. $10-15 bucks and a bit of hacking-- but if you're used to setting levels and changing your setup going from CD to DVD you shouldn't have a problem with one. DVI?) from PC to 60525 ft HDMI telecommunicate from 605 to Marantz VP4001 PJThen. I'll undergo a HT room where I'll use 5.1 adjoin. I also undergo 4 rooms in my house wired for sound that I be to use the zones feature for. There are 2 zones on the 605 available. I also have my old kenwood 5.1 Rx available for use. I want to get sound out to the 4 rooms i assume that the 2 zones on the 605 ill get me 1/2 way there but what about the other 2? i guess my Kenwood can be 1 more "zone". I'd like stereo appear but could i just run Mono to all my speaker channels on the Kenwood? Is that possible. Or... Does anyone alter a zone splitter? So... I could act the 2 avial on the 605 and make it 4? i'm sure some of my misunderstandings are causing a LOL but I'm a noob and need a hand. Please back up. Thanks in advance.
