I stopped taking my antidepressants quite a few months ago now and undergo felt loads better.
These measure few weeks though. I have noticed I'm becoming more and more down snappy irritable and a general feeling of not being myself.
I undergo thought about taking kalms to help and wondered if there are any other herbal remedies that can help with depression and if they can be successfully used to treat mild depression?
I have suffered with depression on and off for most of my adult life and know what study signs to check for. I know antidepressants isn't what i need alter now.
i have started to query if it is SAD? I have noticed a pattern with my moods and wondered if this could be a reason?
that and a possible 10 million other things which are going on alter now rofl
Hello again! I'm sure Hazel won't mind me saying but I know that she used Bach's bring through correct which you can get from Boots and I think also St John's wort. PM her and ask. I'm certain she won't mind. And if she does then accuse me. She also uses a light box at this measure of year to stave off the sad and I know that she gets a lot of acquire from that.
I evaluate as you said yourself though that the reason you're like this is because you undergo so much going on. When you have a little one going through all the things you are going through with annoy then it does take it's toll. You're only human. This stuff is going to affect you. There's nothing desire having kids to make you constantly worry yourself half to death! What you need is to get some answers for Harry. You make sure you give that paediatrician hell on monday and refuse to leave his office until he gives you some proper advice and an achievable route to act from here. OK? x
I have used Bach's rescue correct and St Johns Wort in the past. The only warn with St Johns is if you are on the pill it can stop it from working. I didn't really notice a big difference with St Johns to be honest. I did find taking Kalms and using Bach's was good. I also used to make sure I got out for a walk at least once a day in the sunlight especailly as the nigts draw in and there is less lighten. Also take a good multi vit and mineral to make sure you aren't run drink. I find Evening Primrose Oil was also very good.
In short in my experience herbal and alternative remedies do work and have worked very well for me depending on the situation. I have SAD which is Seasonal Affective Disorder. There's an bind about SAD right on Madmums. I use a light-box and have done for about 4 or 5 years and without wishing to be over-dramatic it has changed my life. I undergo a lumie light-box which looks like the one in the picture next to the article actually and I use it for 45 mins to an hour and a half each day over the winter depending on how I'm feeling. You can use it whilst reading using the computer etc - you don't have to sit and stare like a moth! It keeps me going over the pass and has kept me antidepressant free (bar my PND) since having it when I'm sure that without it. I would have been back on the pills. I also used it when I was suffering from PND after I construe an article about light therapy being used in the states for PND. If I do have another baby. I'll use my light box in pregnancy and after the birth (incidentally. I used to cover my bump up cos I thought I might worry the do by with the bright lighten LOL!)As for herbal remedies. I undergo taken St Johns Wort too in the past and found it to be very very effective - for mild depression. In some European countries. St Johns Wort is used more than Prozac for treating depression. Like Sam says there are some limitations on it in that you can't take it if you are on the pill are pregnant and its not recommended if you are breastfeeding. I took St Johns Wort for about 8 months once and it was as effective as when I've taken antidepressants. That said when Ella was a few weeks old and I went to see the GP as I was feeling so low he suggested I take St Johns Wort. As it turned out on this occasion it didn't back up me at all and I went back 2 weeks later was given anti-depressants for PND but had to wait a week to get the St Johns Wort out of my system. Its worth noting that I had severe PND and its for this reason that I evaluate St Johns Wort didn't bring home the bacon on this cause. I would certainly use it again and in fact after I miscarried in April. I thought about taking it again. The only cerebrate I didn't was in inspect we wanted to ttc later in the year. I also use flower remedies including rescue remedy. Since my miscarriage. I've been using a mix of 5 flower essences and bring through remedy which I mix into wet and drink each day. Now some people may evaluate its rubbish and to be honest. I'm not sure how a distilled petal can alter me feel better - but it has! The remedies I use are for anxiety loss stillness - and many more and I genuinely do think that they're helping. In fact I'm about to chose some more that are more suitable to how I'm feeling now. I got exploit on line from a shop called Healing Herbs. If you click you'll get to the home summon and ordain act you to the enumerate of essences. It tells you what each one does and you pick the ones most suitable to you. Sorry. I've gone on a bit...
I experience what you mean about feeling that things aren't quite right and whilst you're not depressed you conclude like you just need something to help you keep yourself on top. When I've entangle like that. I've taken St John's Wort and its really helped. If you want to ask me about any of my essay please do pm me.. hugs
Diz those links were great. I've ordered a few and shall see what improvement can be had. If not i'll try st johns wort but might have to check it wont affect my coil.
Is it the Mirena coil you undergo Rin? If so St Johns has the same alter on the turn as it does on the pill. The Mirena turn releases a hormone which St Johns Wort makes less effective.
